Are you the respondent?

If you have had a successful career; if you have a house; if you have any assets, especially liquid; if you are accused of domestic violence; if you want to have joint equal and fully inclusive physical and legal custody... You are in for a turbulent ride.  Protect yourself and your children from the start.  Do not allow a commissioner to hear your case. If you do you will be sorry.

You attorney may try to convince you that signing the form allowing the commissioner to hear your case is for your best interest. He/she may tell you that you don't want to anger the commissioner.  The choice is yours, however keep in mind that you're signing your rights away. For those of us that have gone through the process and listened to our attorneys and signed the document wish that we could retract it.  It is too late for us...
